It’s Okay to Want More

I’m dedicating this article to the ones who appear to have it all.

The responsible ones.

The ones who did everything right, who swoop in to save the day.

The ones with the good job. The house. The car.

Even with all the success, you still find yourself wanting more.

It’s okay.

You’re wanting more.

But it’s not more things. Not a bigger house. Not a better car. Not a better job with bigger pay.

You feel insatiable.

Even though you appear to have it all, you are still yearning and craving.

It’s okay.

You are craving the intangibles.

Meaning. Connection. Acceptance.

Growth. Knowledge. Understanding.

There’s no school to attend to achieve these things. No curriculum to follow.

The intangibles are found on the inner journey – the journey to know yourself. It’s a selfish journey. One that requires introspection. Time, energy – even money – that’s focused on you.

It’s okay.

It’s okay to experiment with your life. To go off the beaten path. To NOT do the right thing.

It’s okay to choose your growth and happiness over the distant cousin that finds himself in a jam.

It’s okay to use your resources to pursue your interests.

It’s okay to want more.

As you explore and you discover meaning, connection, and self-acceptance on your inner journey, you will have so much more to give.

You will have a rich, full, lush life.

Give yourself permission to take the inner journey – the luxury of your time, energy, and money.

It’s okay to want more.
