Stop Wasting Your Energy

I am committed to my Well-Being, my happiness, and my alignment.

When I say that, folks usually associate physical health with Well-Being and they can understand happiness. But alignment? Huh?

What do you mean by that?

By alignment, I mean that I ensure that I am in a good feeling place before taking action.

Now I know, that just flies in the face of feel the fear and do it anyway. The philosophy of pushing through fear was useful to me at one point in my life. Now, it just feels totally counterproductive. It requires too much energy.

When you feel the fear and do it anyway, you exert energy to complete the task. You exert even more energy pushing through the fear.

On the other hand, when you feel good, you are propelled by the feel-good energy to complete the task.

Let’s look at the math…

10 Units of energy needed to complete task

Option 1: Feel the fear and do it anyway

Start at zero – 10 Units to complete task – 50 Units to push through fear = -60 Units at the end (That’s negative 60!)

Option 2: Feel good (align), then act

Start at zero – 10 Units to complete task + 50 Units contributed from good feeling = +40 Units at the end

When you have energy at the end of the task, things start to feel effortless – even life giving.
